About us

Gwyl y Pethau Bychain 2019

In 2018 a group of friends in and around Machynlleth came together to create a Welsh folk music festival to celebrate St. David’s Day. St David famously said “Gwnewch y pethau bychain” (Do the little things), and so the name was chosen. The first festival was held from 1st-3rd March 2019. It was a great success.

There were artists from across Wales, some internationally renowned, some local, and guest artists from Ireland. Visitors came from far and wide. Following on from that initial success, the group was more formalised with the intention of making the festival an annual event and to hold other events through the year. The group is entirely voluntary and not for profit. Anyone wishing to get involved is welcome to contact us; we always can do with more help, throughout the year or during the festival.

Get involved

Fridays in The Cwtch

There is an informal gathering in The Cwtch of The Wynnstay on the second and fourth Friday of every month, bring an instrument, a voice, or just come along to enjoy.

If you’re a band or musician who would like to perform, we’d love to hear from you.

Help with the Festival

We always need volunteers to help with – raising money, publicity, organising, putting up posters and banners, decorating, on-the-door, looking after the venues.
